Hello there,
It’s been a while since my last blog. It’s mid-February 2021 in the UK and we’re nearing the end of what we’re told is the last lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic. I’ve used this time to be as creative as possible with music and writing… mainly writing. I’ve completed the first draft of After The Fall, the second book in The Will Of The People trilogy. It’s resting in a dark place place for 6 weeks (or so) until I’m able to read it with fresh eyes. This is an essential part of the process, to be able to dispassionately edit your own work. After this, I’ll use a software editor to try and flag up anything I’ve missed. After that (phew!), I’ll ask friends and ‘beta readers’ to give me their impressions before a final tweak — or re-write if their overviews suggest fundamental change is necessary. I re-wrote TWOTP twice.
Other news: before After The Fall I have another release planned. Can’t say too much, but it’s another seat-of-your-pants thriller which engages with the encroachment of Artificial Intelligence. I have a cover and am refining the text. I’m very excited about it.
